Today we released an improved leader board that provides a better snapshot of who is contributing to Qwisk on a daily, weekly and all-time basis. Every time someone re-shares a link that you share, you get a point. In other words, if you want to show up on the leader board, share and discover cool stuff! Then use the leader board to find interesting and active people to follow on Qwisk.

You asked and we listened!

In response to your feedback, we've made a handful of improvements to the Qwisk Firefox Extension. Foremost among them: you can now open sidebar links into new tabs by right-clicking them. A normal left-click will still open the link in the current tab, as expected. To get this, upgrade to the latest version of the extension here.

We've also been improving the Qwisk communities. Previously, your shares to a community wouldn't show up in your profile, but now when you visit someone's profile you'll see all their shares and if they've shared a link to a community, that icon will appear to the left. It's a great way of seeing each users' interests and how they're contributing to Qwisk communities!

Qwisk was due for a makeover, so here it is!  Background colors where changed to lighter values while areas of focus were given a 'glassy' look using vibrant bold colors.  We found this makes the items on the page 'pop' while providing a cleaner and more elegant look.  This is, of course, in our humble opinion as we're not design experts.  Therefore, we'd love to hear your thoughts.  How did we do?

Today we're excited to announce both a Popular page, and what we call Social Points tied with a totally revamped Leader Board!  

Popular Page

The new Popular page shows a list of the most shared and talked about links on the Qwisk network within the past 24 hours.  Its a great place to find other links to browse and other active users to follow.  Check it out. 

Social Points and the Leader Board

Those of you who were around during the Socialbrowse days remember that the Leader Board was done a little differently.  Today though we've gone back to that previous method of analyzing usage and assigning everyone "social points" and promoting those who rise to the top.  Here's how the social points system work:

Every time you share a link, and someone who's following you shares it after you do, you receive a point for making that link social.

 

Basically if you want more points invite friends and share more links!

 

The top people then get rewarded and put on the Leader Board for others to easily find and follow.   In addition we'll be rolling out more benefits to leaders.  

 

We've broken the leaders into 3 groups.  Those that are leaders for today (last 24 hours), the week, and forever.  Check it out here.

 

This weekend we rolled out a huge set of bug fixes and small feature enhancements. Many are too minor to list, or boring security or server improvements but here are a few items that you'll notice:

• More Stable Twitter Implementation
• Improved Load times
• Optimized Facebook Integration
• Browser Proxy Improvements
• Fixes to Email Notification Settings
• Pretty Date Timestamps for the Feed
• Search and other shortcuts for the client address bar
• Pagintation on profile, fans and following pages

and many many more small fixes most of which came from your feedback! Infact every issue of feedback has been addressed and with this release most of them have been resolved!
